La Poesia de Comida
In this project, we had the opportunity to research a Spanish speaking country and cook a certain dish from that country. We took the recipe for this food and translated it into Spanish and also wrote poems dedicated to our foods in Spanish.
Mi Receta/ My Recipe
Mi Oda/ My Ode
I learned to do a lot in this project. I learned to conjugate verbs in a command form in order to write my recipe. I also learned a lot of cooking vocabulary-- such as words for food, cooking utensils, and different verbs like "stir" and "bake" and different things like that. While writing my ode, I learned many fancy adjectives that I had to use to make my ode over-the-top and overly dramatic. The country I researched was Spain, and I learned about the culture and food and just general facts about the country. If I could redo this project, I would have managed my time in a more effective way. I would allow myself to get distracted and some parts of my project were not as refined as they could have been.
Arte y Lengua
In this project, we all chose an Spanish or Latin artist. We studied this artist and their works and made art in the style of this person, using their themes and colors and whatever else we wanted. I chose Francisco De Goya and did a photograph replicating one of his works, "Here Comes the Boogeyman".
Declaracion Del Artista
I learned quite a bit from this project. I learned about how o conjugate in the past tense. Because Goya is dead, I could not possibly use present tense to talk about him. I also learned quite a bit about his art and how he used politics in his paintings. During this project, I took a photograph and it was hard to get the lighting just right. Many of Goya's pictures used light and shadow, and it was difficult to get that to work properly. If I could redo this project, I would manage my time better. I would get very distracted in class and ended up doing my picture at the last minute, which is never a good thing. The photo ended up looking rather sloppy in the end.
Born Not in the USA/ Nacido No en los EEUU
Mis Cuentos Infantiles
For this project, we wrote children's stories in Spanish about our lives in America and our lives in a Spanish-speaking country! This project was super challenging, but so rewarding. Working with the kids from Del Alma was so fun and seeing how excited the children were made all the hard work worth it.

Self Evaluation!
Out of 25 points, I believe my project is worth 24 points. My project meets all the basic requirements, and the outside of the book is very presentable indeed. However, there are a few mistakes spelling-wise. Also, some of the pictures are really beautiful while others are not nearly as fancy. But believe me when I say that I put a lot of effort into each little detail, even if it does not appear that way. I am artistically challenged, and for this reason I believe I should not be judged to severely.
La Exposición con Del Alma
I believe the exhibition went extremely well. The kids were all so sweet and smart and helped us a lot with our Spanish. Reading to those kids and seeing how excited they were really made this project worthwhile. It was a great time!
